The Arts Council of Appling County is thrilled to celebrate local art during “Appling Arts Weekend” Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19. The Celebration is slated to include children’s sidewalk art, the Appling Variety Show and a creative writing workshop!
Friday 3/18: From 9:45 AM – 11:00 AM, Appling County Primary Pre-K Students will be decorating the Baxley First Baptist and Baxley First United Methodist Church parking lots. What fun it will be to have all these little artists “painting” (or chalking) the town! Local musicians will be setting the tune of the events.
Friday 3/18: 7:00 PM marks the opening of the Second Annual Appling Variety Show, showcasing various talents from around the community. Prepare to be dazzled by #applingarts! The show will be held at Baxley First United Methodist Church Family Life Center. Admission is $10.00 ($5.00 for students). Admission can be paid at the door, but advanced tickets are available on our Facebook store or by calling us at 912-278-2772.
Saturday 3/19: 11:00 AM brings a chance to participate in a story writing workshop. Local retired educator and Arts Council President, Mary Ann Ellis, hosts this exceptional opportunity to pen your favorite family stories. Time will be focused on finding the perfect memory or tale and recording it so that generations will be telling it with fondness for years to come. The class is FREE and open to anyone, ages 12 and up! Please sign up in advance as space is limited to 15 participants. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 912-278-2772 to reserve your spot.
