Final Summer Concert FRIDAY 8.5!

jason-bible-facebook-adGuess what, y’all! Tomorrow – FRIDAY AUGUST 5 – is the FINAL show of the Arts Council’s 2016 FREE Summer Concerts at Water Works Park.

The concert will begin at 7:00 PM at Water Works Park, 93 Tippins Street in Baxley. The show will feature Jason Bible, an Americana musician from Savannah, GA. Bible is a member of The Train Wrecks, a band voted Savannah’s “Best Country/Americana Band” in 2015. Concessions will be available for purchase. Chi-ago’s Phat Smoke will be serving up delicious barbeque and the ACAC will be selling popcorn and ice cream sandwiches. All are welcome partake in these treats or to bring a picnic spread and enjoy the summer tunes at your best leisure. This concert is free and family friendly. Bring your kids in their swimsuits to enjoy the City’s splash pad!

The ACAC has been delighted to bring this series to Baxley and hope that you all will come out for our final show! Ninety folks showed up for the last event and rocked out to awesome tunes from KennyRaiVern. It was an amazing great time! If you were there – you know! – come again tomorrow night. If you weren’t there – you should have been! – come tomorrow night!

August-Paint-FB-PhotoComing up next on our event schedule is Spirits and Strokes with Judy! This class will be held 6:30 PM, Tuesday  August 16. We will be painting ferns with watercolors!

We are hosting this class (and two others in the 2016-2017 Season: 11/15 & 3/14) with local artist and retired Appling County Art Educator, Judy Johnson, will be hosting a series of paint parties in The Huddle Room at Dick’s Wings in Baxley. All are invited to attend and enjoy creating their own masterpiece with friends and fellowship! Each class will be exciting for artists at all skill levels.

Attendees are encouraged to enjoy themselves and have a fun night out! Dick’s Wings’ full menu will be available, dutch treat. The cost of each class is $30 and includes supplies.
